Anupama has been translating Malayalam author Paul Zacharia’s work into English for some years now. The process of translating keeps her connected to her Malayalam roots; a process she has been trying to understand and come to terms with ever since her first encounter as a teenager with Malayalam authors such as Thakazhi Sivasankara Pillai, M. T. Vasudevan Nair, Paul Zacharia, Ayyappa Panikker, O. V. Vijayan, among others.
